Muckler out in Ottawa?

So what does assembling an Eastern Conference Champion team get you these days? Apparently, it gets you the boot.

According to TSN, the Toronto Sun is reporting that John Muckler is/will be out as GM of the Ottawa Senators.

According to the Toronto Sun, the Ottawa Senators have fired general manager John Muckler.

Muckler wouldn't discuss the issue with the paper, directing all inquiries to Senators owner Eugene Melnyk.

"I haven't been told anything," Muckler told the Sun when asked about potential changes.

Nothing confirmed by the team or anyone else... yet. Either way, there have been rumblings, including this piece by TSN's Bob McKenzie, stating that this would be happening anyways. It's rumored head coach Bryan Murray was dethiring the GM pothithun, er, desiring the GM position.

Whatever happens, if Muckler is gone, we'll always have the memories of this:
