MacArthur and Sekera reassigned

In what could really be considered a surprise move, the Sabres announced today that they have sent forward Clarke MacArthur and defenseman Andrej Sekera to Rochester.

"Just to play," responded head coach Lindy Ruff when asked why the pair were reassigned. "With Rochester's proximity and schedule, it's better that both players are playing."

This leaves the team with 21 roster players, and only 6 defenseman. With forward Ales Kotalik out with an injury, this pretty much solidifies the team's roster for Friday's season opener against the New York Islanders at HSBC Arena:
