Peters, Thibault, Numminen,Ryan sign

The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed tough guy Andrew Peters to a 2-yr deal.

Team also signes Jocelyn Thibault and Mike Ryan to 1-yr deals.

Teppo Numminen is re-upped for 2.6 mil for 1 year.


Everyone who knows me knows that I am on the Peters bandwagon. Most intelligent hockey fans have him as a top 5 fighter in the NHL. He is well liked in the locker room and around Buffalo. Congrats, Petey.

Briere is a Flyer, Drury a Ranger

The Philadelphia Flyers made a big splash to kick off the offseason, signing centre Daniel Briere to an eight-year contract worth $52 million.

The deal will average $6.5 million a season against the salary cap, with the first year paying him $10 million. The contract also features a no movement clause

The Buffalo Sabres also lose Captain Chris Drury to the Rangers, he was given a 5 year deal at 7 mil per.

Well as of 3:25 pm...seems as if Daniel Briere will be a FLYER for 7 mil + per year.

Chris Drury is said to be in talk with the L.A Kings...some sources do say that he is still considering a return to Buffalo.
