SWP How-tos: Creating a Page
It is very simple to create a page in the SabresWikiProject. This SabresWikiProject entry shows you the basics of page creation, as well as things to remember. For information on formating, visit
http://wikkawiki.org/FormattingRules∞.
There is a form on the SabresWikiProject
HomePage that allows you to create a page. The proper format for a page name is
CamelCase, which is the act of putting two compound words together, with the first letter of the second word capitalized.
Examples:
For two words or a proper name:
Lindy Ruff--
LindyRuff
Darcy Regier--
DarcyRegier
Buffalo Sabres--
BuffaloSabres
For abbreviations:
HSBC Arena--
HsbcArena
From the address bar
An easier way to create pages is to type the page name in the address bar. For example, you can type
http://www.sabresinsider.com/sabreswikiproject/ScottyBowman/create∞ to create a page about Scotty Bowman. You will then see this:
This page doesn't exist yet. Maybe you want to create it?
Go ahead and click on the word "create". Again, make sure the name is in
CamelCase or it will not work!
Missing Pages
Missing pages have red dashes under them. When you see this, it means that there is not a page already dedicated to that it. For example,
HsbcArena has red dashes under it right now because no page exists for it. If you click on the word, however, you will be able to create an entry.
